The right side of history

I truly believe everyone wants to be on the right side of history. When we look back on 2020 fifty years from now — when we see all that has transpired and where our country is, I know we all want to say we did the right thing.

But what happens when everyone is dead set on believing they are on the correct side? What happens when everyone feels deep in their bones they are doing the right thing?

As believers, which I have to assume most of you are if you’re reading this, our job is to point people to Jesus. The Bible I read has never once told me to go and make disciples of the Republican or Democrat party. It has told me to make disciples of Jesus.

Is this a “Jesus Juke?” Maybe. But maybe we need to get rid of that term because it’s causing people to stand down and not speak truth.

I’m reminded of Corrie Ten Boom. She wasn’t screaming from the rooftops that the Nazi’s were horrid. Were they? Yes. But she used her position to point people to Jesus. To speak truth and kindness, even to the Nazi’s.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” -Jesus (John‬ ‭10:27)

I can promise you you’ll be on the right side of history if you follow Jesus and point people to Jesus.
