“Because some Jews had plotted against him just as he was about to sail for Syria, he decided to go back through Macedonia. He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia. These men went on ahead and waited for us at Troas.” (Acts‬ ‭20:3–5)

Thinking today about the men who accompanied Paul on this specific leg of his journey. And even more specifically, the people who have accompanied me on some interesting parts of my journey.
As you are all aware, not every part of our life story are mountaintop experiences. And thankfully, not every part is in the lowest of valleys.

But the people who accompany us in each play a very important role. A friend is planning a wedding and has spoken of the people she wants to stand with her. All very different people who showed up in different seasons. But important, nonetheless.

Maybe this season isn’t about you. Maybe this season is one for you to show up and be the one who accompanies others in their monumental seasons. It’s not a bad place to be and it will serve a long lasting role.
